wedding manager
Let's chat so I can quote you on your requirements

what does a wedding manager do?

A Wedding Manager (also known as a Day Coordinator or Event Manager) takes all the little jobs on the day of the wedding out of the hands of the bride and groom (and their parents) and is the contact person for all vendors. Ask any couple who have had one on their day and they will sing their praises as it makes the day run smoothly and stress-free.

I arrive early, check all tables are being placed and set correctly, name cards are in the right place, vendors are all arriving and know what is happening. I greet guests and direct them where to be and where to put presents. I liaise between you and the celebrant to ensure we are ready for the ceremony and that the music is cued up. I gather up guests for the group photo, ensure they have drinks and the games run smoothly.  I bring the bridal party drinks while they are out having photographs taken. I take special care of grandparents to ensure they are comfortable. I work will all vendors to keep everything to time and progressing smoothly. I ensure the mics are turned on for speeches, the MC is prompted for their moments, the cake has a knife beside it, the lighting is dimmed for dancing, and at the end of the evening I call taxi's for guests, stow the presents/cards safely, ensure pack-up is done to the venue's standard and leave last!

Taking care of all these details (and many more - bug spray for the bride and bridesmaids, putting in pocket squares, having extra pins to hold buttonholes on etc) all takes time, and if you don't have a coordinator, this all falls to the bride and groom and your helpers and it adds a big stress to the day.

the process

Starting a couple of weeks before your wedding I meet with you and get the run-sheet (plan of the day) sorted, get all the contact details of vendors, ask lots of questions about how you want things done e.g. table placement, table centrepieces, cake cutting, first dance etc.  I then get in contact with all your vendors to confirm their bookings and the details.  I happily attend rehearsals and check with the venue all the plans are in place.  I am the first to arrive and the last to leave on your day.
